GBPA’s SCHOLARSHIP Recipients 2025-2026

The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited and Group of Companies awarded 123 partial Scholarships for 2025/2026 Academic Year and congratulates 13 Graduates of the Programme

The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited and Group of Companies are pleased to announce once again that we have awarded (41) new college scholarships and are continuing to maintain (82) existing scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. Since the start of the programme in the mid 1970’s to date, the GBPA Group has contributed between $12M-$13M into the lives of students on Grand Bahama Island. The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited, together with, The Grand Bahama Utility Company and The Grand Bahama Development Company Limited, continue to play a major role in promoting the social and educational well-being of the people of Grand Bahama.

Scholarships are awarded to Bahamian residents of Grand Bahama on the basis of merit and need for the Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree programmes. They are tenable at The University of The Bahamas and at fully accredited Colleges and Universities in The United States of America, Canada, England and The University of The West Indies. To qualify, applicants must have a minimum of five B.G.C.S.E.s including Mathematics and English with passes at grade C or above and a current cumulative grade point average of 3.00, which must be maintained to keep the scholarship.  Students are offered a total of four (4) Awards, or five (5) if they are majoring in areas of Engineering.
