Building & Development Services hosts College-Bound Students

The Building and Development Services Department of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited welcomed three twelfth grade students of Sunland Baptist Academy who are interested in the field of architecture.

Jhalan Taylor, Rollajia Cooper and Vashanti Simmons got a firsthand view of the various fields of practice associated with the Building and Development Services department as they all prepare to embark on their tertiary studies this fall.

Building and Development Services President, Arthur Jones said “Architecture must be supported by the related engineering disciplines in order to be complete; and each discipline can be a fulfilling and or lucrative career.”

Pleased to attend the informative event, Rollajia Cooper one of the Sunland students shared her thoughts on the presentation.

“I plan to come home and design buildings here although I’m not really sure which field of architecture I’m going into as yet.  However, I got a better understanding of a few things that I was unclear on as it relates to architecture,” Cooper said.
